Penfield, director of special events and the Madigan Library Gallery, tells attendees about “In the Field of Play.”Friends of Little League International gathered in the Thompson Professional Development Center on Thursday, where they took a sneak peek at an upcoming Little League-themed exhibit at The Gallery at Penn College before taking a trolley ride to VIP ceremonies for the opening of the remodeled Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum in South Williamsport. The college exhibit, “In the Field of Play,” which opens July 12, will feature the photos of legendary Williamsport photographer Putsee Vannucci, who photographed countless moments in local history, including every Little League World Series, from the first in 1947 to the 61st in 2007, just a few months before his passing. The Gallery exhibit will feature more than 100 of those historic Little League photos:
