Danielle M. Young, 27, of Lock Haven, a student in the associate-degree nursing major at Penn College, died Tuesday. College President Davie Jane Gilmour presented Young with her nursing degree in a special ceremony on May 24 attended by nursing faculty and staff and Young's family and friends. A memorial brick will be placed in her honor in the Remembrance Garden, and the Penn College flags lowered to half-staff. Any students wishing to speak with a counselor may contact the Counseling Office at (570) 327-4765 or by e-mail . Memorial services were held Saturday in Covenant United Methodist Church, 46 W. Main St., Lock Haven, with the Rev. Kathleen E. Kind officiating. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Danielle M. Young Scholarship Fund, through the funeral home or thechurch. Arrangementswere under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
