Full-time Penn College staff members will be given the opportunity to gain more in-depth training in Excel and Word and, if desired, attain MOS certification under a professional-development program announced by Workforce Development& Continuing Education.

This is a 12-week session offered during the Fall 2004 semester starting Aug. 31. Each class of Word and Excel will meet one hour weekly. The textbook cost for each class is approximately $35, which will be paid (as well as the cost of testing for the MOS certification) by the participant.

These sessions will be held Tuesdays from Aug. 31 to Dec. 14. The Word session will be from 9-10 a.m. and the Excel session from 10-11 a.m. Both sessions will be held in ATHS, Room W211. The instructor will be from WDCE. It is hoped that at least 10 people will enroll in each session, and, if there is enough interest, the sessions will be repeated during the Spring 2005 semester.

This is a great opportunity to gain more knowledge and expertise of these software applications.

To sign up for these sessions, you may register through the Professional Development Web site or contact WDCE at ext. 4775.
