The Women's Forum at Pennsylvania College of Technology has donated 20 boxes (approximately 500 titles) of hardcover books to the James V. Brown Library in Williamsport for the library's annual "Friends of the Library Book Sale."

The books had been donated to the Women's Forum for sale at Penn College's annual Open House event. The Women's Forum had raised money for an annual scholarship through the book sale and a raffle of donated artworks, but it since has phased out the book-sale activity. Previously, paperback books that had been donated to the Women's Forum for the Open House book sale were given to the American Red Cross.

The Women's Forum Scholarship Fund, which totals more than $19,000, provides scholarship assistance annually to at least one student at Penn College. Last year, a scholarship worth $1,000 was awarded by the group. The Women's Forum is organized by staff and faculty members at Penn College.

The "Friends of the Library Book Sale" will be held Oct. 13-14 at Christ Episcopal Church, Fourth and Mulberry streets, Williamsport. A sale preview will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. The sale will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.
