Winter Commencement Ceremonies Set for Dec. 20

More than 300 Pennsylvania College of Technology students have petitioned to receive their degrees or certificates in commencement ceremonies scheduled to take place Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

Chef Paul E. Mach, assistant professor of food and hospitality management/culinary arts, will deliver the commencement address. Mach is co-host of "You're the Chef," the College's award-winning cooking series on public television. He was also the recipient of the 2001 Master Teacher Award the highest honor accorded to a member of the Penn College faculty.

Mach, who joined the Penn College faculty in 1992, received the award during Summer Commencement ceremonies. He has earned associate's degrees from the Culinary Institute of America and Erie Community College and a bachelor's degree from Empire State College of the State University of New York.

The student speaker for the ceremonies will be Annette M. Kilgus, Hughesville, who will receive a Heavy Construction Equipment Technician certificate.

The ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. at the Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour will preside over the ceremonies and confer the degrees and certificates.
