Winners of 5K Scholarship Fundraiser Announced at Penn College

More than 100 walkers and runners participated in the first School of Health Sciences 5K Endowed Scholarship Race at Pennsylvania College of Technology on April 17.

The event was organized by faculty and staff in the college's School of Health Sciences to raise funds for students pursuing degrees in the school.

Event winners were:

  • K.C. Shaner, a 2000 Penn College alumnus, top male runner.
  • Sarah McIntyre, top female runner.
  • Cody J. Phillips, a physical fitness specialist student from Williamsport, top male walker.
  • Mary Jo Saxe, associate professor of dental hygiene, top female walker.

The event benefited from a variety of sponsors, including student organizations, and several door prizes were awarded.

The school is planning its second annual 5K for next year.

The School of Health Sciences at Penn College offers bachelor's and associate degrees in the fields of dental hygiene, emergency medical services, fitness and lifetime sports, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, physician assistant, radiography and surgical technology.
