Wildcats’ Troy Leid Dually Selected as Week’s Top Wrestler

Troy Leid

Penn College freshman wrestler Troy Leid, of Terre Hill, has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference “Wrestler of the Week” for the period ending Jan. 12.  In his team’s only competition of the week, Leid went 3-0 at the Penn State Mont Alto quad match, recording a pin and two decisions.  His efforts helped the team capture a win against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, the first of the season – and first ever against the Retrievers. This season, Leid is 6-4 on the season with two pins at the 157-pound weight class. Leid and the Wildcats will next see action Sunday, when they travel to Millersville University for the Shorty Hitchcock Open.
