'Cat Tales Men's Soccer Competing in its first Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference match ever, the Wildcats rolled over Penn State-Schuylkill. Jordan Myers (York) scored four goals and added an assist to spark the offense while Ryan Swartz (Muhlenberg) made saves on the only two PS-Schuylkill shots on goal.

In a late-week romp over Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Penn College continued to roll, getting two goals and an assist from Myers, a pair of goals from Lathan Gross (Northeastern) and a goal and two assists from Mike Angell (Central York). Myers leads the Wildcats with six goals and two assists.

Women's Volleyball First-match jitters took their toll on the Lady Wildcats in their season-opening CCAC loss against Penn State-Fayette. Penn College dropped the first game 30-17, but recovered for a 30-9 win in the second before losing the third and fourth games by scores of 31-29 and 30-26, respectively. Standouts for the Lady Wildcats were Maria McNett (Canton), who was 29 of 29 on her serves with seven aces; Janell Thompson (Northern Potter) with 17 kills on 39 of 44 hits, and Amber Geckle (Indian Valley), with only one setting error in 56 sets and 16 assists.

In a weekend tournament at University Park, Penn College rebounded nicely, taking all eight matches. Wildcat coach Bambi Hawkins credited solid play by setters Geckle and Melani Grady (Youngsville). Penn State-DuBois, whom Penn College entertains at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bardo Gym on Third Street, also went 8-0 during the tournament.

Cross Country Tom Lambert, a freshman from Bangor, finished first in 28:38 while leading the Penn College men's team to victory at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Invitational. Also among the top five for the Wildcat men were Dan Arminavage(Annville-Cleona), fourth, and Justin Alberts (Greenwood), fifth.

The Penn College women bunched well, finishing sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth to win their portion of the event. Jennie Mull, a freshman from Huntingdon, led the way in 24:55.
