'Cat Tales Men's Basketball Matt Melusky (Minersville) hit two free throws with eight seconds remaining to give Penn College its first lead in its season opener against Penn State Beaver, but two Beaver free throws and a Wildcat turnover on their final possession spelled the difference in the outcome.

Adam Walker (Williamsport) led Penn College scorers with 18 points while Preston Peterson (Williamsport) and Craig Flint (Port Allegany) each scored 10. The Wildcats open the home portion of their schedule at 8 p.m. Wednesday hosting Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
