The Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team made a strong showing at the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships this past weekend.

Freshmen Brandon Allison (Roaring Spring) and Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) and senior Zack Plannick (Coraopolis) took top spots in men's recurve, bow hunter and compound, respectively. The event, hosted at Penn College, attracted more than 70 archers from regional schools including James Madison University, University of Connecticut and Penn State University.

Individually, the Wildcats boasted seven top-three finishers in the four divisions. Senior Tyler Gale (Kennedyville, Md.) was third in men's recurve. Freshman Ashley Baker (Coudersport) and junior Danny Wido (Shickshinny) took second in women's and men's recurve. Sophomore Joe Dowdrick (Lebanon) rounded out the individual accolades, placing third in bow hunter.

Penn College also placed well in the team rounds. In men's recurve, Allison, Gale and junior Glen Thomas (Mercer) took second place. Baker, senior Julie Cain (Bellefonte) and sophomore Kjirsten Radencic (Liberty) won the women's compound competition. On the men's side in the compound competition, Plannick, Wido and senior Aaron Lapinski (Bloomsburg) took the top spot.

In addition, the All-East Team was announced. Baker, Cain and Radencic made the cut for women's compound, as did Wido, Plannick, Lapinski, freshman Zack Bixby (Gillett) and sophomore Clint Hinton (Lock Haven) for men's compound. Thomas, Gale and Allison earned spots in men's recurve, as well.
