Blue-shirted students, faculty and staff were on hand across campus to make it easier for students to say “hello” to their new surroundings (and less-traumatic for parents to say “goodbye for now”). Freshmen and transfer students moved into on- and off-campus housing, a variety of entertaining and informative events were scheduled, and campus offices offered weekend hours to accommodate last-minute needs before Monday’s start of classes. (The fireworks display, postponed Sunday, will be rescheduled later this semester.)
