‘Welcome Weekend’ Greets New Penn College Students

In sun and in shade, families gather for lunch under ideal conditions Campus Center information desk just one location for helpful student advice As another semester begins, the Campus Center patio area fills with the welcome sight of new students and their families“Welcome Weekend,” a two-day get-acquainted program for new Penn College students, began Saturday morning. Blue-shirted students, faculty and staff were on hand across campus to make it easier for students to say “hello” to their new surroundings (and less-traumatic for parents to say “goodbye for now”). Freshmen and transfer students moved into on- and off-campus housing, a variety of entertaining and informative events were scheduled, and campus offices offered weekend hours to accommodate last-minute needs before Monday’s start of classes. (The fireworks display, postponed Sunday, will be rescheduled later this semester.)
