The American Red Cross was "extremely happy" about the turnout for Wednesday's Bloodmobile at the Bush Campus Center, where a total of 160 individuals registered to give blood and 147 pints were collected achieving the goal of 130. There were 58 first-time donors, and every pint collected goes to saving another life.

Donors using the online donation appointment system have been very happy and, in most cases, are able to complete the donation processin approximatelyan hour. Overall, the process went very well, according to Carl L. Shaner, Student Health Center director, who urged faculty/staff and students to mark their calendars now for the next Bloodmobile: from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 31 in Penn's Inn. Those who used the online system will receive an e-mail in early January askingthemto sign up for an appointment.

The Red Cross and Student Health Services thank all students, staff and faculty who participated as a donor or volunteer; special thanks to Food Services for providing the pizzas for this event.
