Alumni members of the Wildcat volleyball team returned to campus Saturday afternoon to challenge the current Penn College women’s squad, playing well enough to win a set. “The current team was experimenting with their lineup a bit,” said coach Bambi A. Hawkins, who refereed, “and had to return to their familiar lineup to finish out the match against an alumni group that was quite feisty and not about to give up.” Alumna Rachel A. Zick bowed out after the first set to attend to her 6-month-old daughter, so current player Rachel E. Heller filled in – playing “front row (middle blocker/hitter) well despite her usual role of defensive specialist,” Hawkins noted.
