Vincent Hron Exhibit Opens Sept. 28 at College Gallery

Vincent Hron, whose %22Vine Kitchen%22 is pictured here, is the featured artist in The Gallery at Penn College from Sept. 28 to Oct. 22.The Gallery at Penn College on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host the paintings of Vincent Hron from Sept. 28 to Oct. 22, with special hours scheduled Oct. 1 for Williamsport's First Friday Art Town event.

An opening reception will take place Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with an artist's talk scheduled at 4 p.m. Both the opening and the talk are free and open to the public.

After the opening, viewing hours for the show will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 to 6 p.m., or by appointment. The Gallery will host additional viewing hours Oct. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m., in conjunction with the city's First Friday event. The Gallery at Penn College is in Room 202 of the Bush Campus Center.

Hron is an associate professor of art at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Born in Omaha, Neb., he earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting/drawing from Drake University and a master of fine arts degree in painting from the University of Michigan.

Many of Hron's paintings feature interiors, neighborhoods and playgrounds. His artwork has earned several awards, including a graduate scholarship to study for a year at the State Art Academy in Karlsrhue, Germany. His works are displayed in collections in Belgium, Michigan, California, Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, Nebraska and Pennsylvania. He is affiliated with the Gross McLeaf Gallery in Philadelphia.
