Victaulic Co. Establishes Scholarship at Penn College

An internationally recognized manufacturing firm is supporting Pennsylvania College of Technology with a new scholarship fund.
The Victaulic Manufacturing Professional Scholarship Fund will provide an annual award of $2,500 to a senior-level student in the manufacturing engineering technology bachelor-degree major at Penn College.
Successful applicants must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.0. First preference will be for a full-time student, but part-time students will also be considered for the awards.
Headquartered in Easton, Victaulic Co. does business around the world as the originator and developer of the grooved piping method for rapidly joining pipes for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and many specialized building-service piping applications. Victaulic products are also used in industrial applications, including mining, maritime, oil-field, chemical, pulp and paper, food, automotive, textiles, iron and steel, and power production.
"The establishment of this scholarship confirms Victaulic's commitment to establishing a strong partnership between Victaulic and the manufacturing engineering technology program at Pennsylvania College of Technology," said Scott Walp, manager of human resources for Victaulic.
"We have a number of graduates from the program working for us currently, and have been very satisfied with the quality of education provided," Walp said. "We believe this scholarship will be beneficial to all concerned."
In addition to the new scholarship fund, Victaulic has made significant equipment donations to Penn College for use in the HVAC technology bachelor- and associate-degree majors.
