Greg Twiggs will be the featured professional at the 16th Annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation on May 6 at the Williamsport Country Club.
The annual fund-raising event for sponsors supports the Scholarship Aid Program for Penn College students. Since 1990, the Foundation has provided $148,000 in scholarships to Penn College students.
Twiggs, a Los Angeles native who now resides in Greensboro, N.C., has a PGA Tour victory to his credit: the 1989 Shearson Lehman Hutton Open. He also won the 1996 Nike Cleveland Open on the Buy.Com tour, helping him to finish 12th that year with $98,210 in prize money. In 1993, Twiggs won a career high $231,823 on the PGA Tour.
The Spring Golf Classic begins with a breakfast and photo session at 8:30 a.m., followed by a golf clinic with Twiggs at 9:45 a.m. The tournament gets under way at 12:45 p.m. A reception and awards presentation will take place at 6 p.m. in the Thompson Professional Development Center on the main campus, followed by dinner at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant at 7 p.m.
