Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer focused academic school tours for prospective transfer students June 9-12.

Each Transfer Day will include opportunities to speak with academic school staff, tour lab areas specific to academic majors and tour the campus. The programming begins at 10 a.m., and each day will conclude with an afternoon session in which transfer credit or prior learning experiences – such as work/life experience or military credit – may be discussed.

Prospective students are encouraged to bring unofficial copies of transcripts to assist with the discussion of transfer credits. Upon application to the college, students must submit official copies of transcripts. Students applying to Penn College at the conclusion of the day will have the application fee waived.

On Monday, June 9, prospective students are invited to explore the nine associate- or bachelor-degree majors within the School of Health Sciences. In addition to the patient-care degrees, the day will present information on the health information, fitness specialist and emergency medical services majors.

Staff will also be available to discuss the applied health studies bachelor’s degree, available online for individuals who are employed in the health care field and possess a nationally recognized health credential but would like to continue their education with an online degree-completion program.

The School of Industrial, Computing & Engineering Technologies will host students on Tuesday, June 10, showcasing its hands-on labs designed to prepare graduates for employment in the manufacturing, electrical, electronics and computer engineering, engineering design, plastics and polymer, and welding career fields.

Prospective students interested in information technology degrees and software development will tour labs designed to prepare students for emerging technologies.

The School of Transportation & Natural Resources Technologies, the School of Construction & Design Technologies, and the School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications will welcome students on Wednesday, June 11.

Prospective students will have an opportunity to explore majors introduced recently, including automotive technology: Mopar CAP, automotive restoration, industrial and human factors design, and emergency management, in addition to other majors offered by the schools.

The School of Business & Hospitality will conclude the weeklong event on Thursday, June 12.  In addition to participating in tours of classroom and lab areas for the baking, pastry and culinary arts majors, guests will have an opportunity to explore the accounting and finance majors and the multiple concentrations within the business administration major.

Prospective students may also explore the technology management degree, designed to offer management skills for career advancement to those individuals who possess an associate degree in a technical field. This degree is available online and is designed to accommodate working professionals.
