Tiffany L. JoynerTiffany L. Joyner of Stewartstown, who will graduate next month with an associate's degree in nursing, has been chosen as April's "Student of the Month" by the Student Government Association.

Active with the Student Nurses' Association, she also is a member and past secretary of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society for two-year students. This past summer, she also participated in York Hospital's Nursing Externship program.

"Tiffany exemplifies the ideal Penn College student by always striving to improve herself academically and professionally," her nominator wrote. "The departments at York Hospital for which Tiffany worked during the externship were so impressed with the skills she had learned at Penn College − and the natural determination that she brought to the job − she received several employment offers following graduation.

"She is a leader and role model by nature; her phone is always ringing with classmates who are calling to ask for her advice. Penn College has benefited from having Tiffany as student, classmate, organization member, friend and all-around-upstanding member of the campus community."

Her selection marks the final "Student of the Month" for the academic year. Stay tuned to PCToday during the Fall 2005 semester for the next round of nominations.
