The rain has ended (for now), so why not plan a "Picnic for the Planet?" Friday is Earth Day and a perfect time to begin. Here are five easy actions, compliments of the Nature Conservancy and the Penn College Energy Conservation Subcommittee, that will enhance your meal: 1. Eat Smart Make meaningful food choices, food that's good for you and the earth. 2. Eat Local Where and when possible, buy food from local producers in season. 3. Eat sustainable Eat fish, one of the few foods we still get from the wild. 4. Eat Green Eat more fruits and vegetables, good for your health and the health of the planet. 5. Eat out Join a friend and share a picnic with the earth; make your plate more "planet-friendly."
