Summer Commencement at Penn College to Be Held Aug. 4

A commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, for the more than 230 students who have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology after the college’s summer sessions.

The Summer Commencement ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.



The student speaker for the ceremony will be Brandy L. Krause, of Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, who will be awarded an associate degree in radiography. Krause has been selected to receive the President’s Award, the Evangelical Community Hospital Radiography Student Achievement Award, and the Radiography Major Faculty and Staff Award.

Krause is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Chi honor societies, as well as the Future Business Leaders of America. She has served as a Community Assistant and as president of the Medical Imaging Club, a representative with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, captain of the women’s soccer team and a member of the college’s dance team.

During the commencement ceremony, the college will present a Mentorship Award, which recognizes alumni or businesses that have made significant or ongoing contributions to the education and development of Penn College students.

Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied by Robert A. Secor, chairman of the college’s Board of Directors.
