Students Strike First, but Staff/Faculty Laugh Last

    Action at the net The blur of competition Staff/faculty teammates await their captain's serve A campus volleyball rivalry resumed in Bardo Gym on Wednesday night, asthe student team of Gavin Mock, Adam Dumm, Joel Reese, Amanda Sherry, Ty Holland and Alexandra Davis took on the staff/faculty squad of Daniel Warner, Mark Dougherty, Jim Cunningham, Elliott Strickland Jr, Amber Dreese, Kimberly Bolig and Daniel Bennett. The staff/faculty team nearly swept the three sets, but the students mounted a nice comeback to take the first set, 25-21; the employee team took the final two (26-24 and 15-11) to claim ultimate victory. Staff/faculty were led into battle by captain Warner, who provided some nice serves for which the students had no answers. "The staff/faculty team was out to seek revenge from a loss in a sand volleyball game from the fall semester," said intramural assistant Jeremy R. Bottorf, who provided a game summary and photos. "They came in on a mission and accomplished it."
