Students Make Chocolate Houses to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

Chocolate houses created by students in the Baking and Pastry Arts major at Pennsylvania College of Technology will help Williamsport/Lycoming Habitat for Humanity continue its mission of building affordable housing for low-income families in need of adequate shelter.
The chocolate houses will be sold in a silent auction to be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Genetti Hotel and Convention Center, 200 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. The students' creations may be viewed that day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Light confections and refreshments will be served. The event is open to the public.
Students enrolled in the "Principles of Chocolate Works" course taught by Suzann L. Major, assistant professor of food and hospitality management/culinary arts in the School of Hospitality at Penn College, will design and make the chocolate houses that will be auctioned for the event.

Wark, Berwick ("Topton House Restaurant"); Jessica D. Weaver, Marble, and Jill E. Slocum, Thompson ("The Bakery"); and Kim Le, Williamsport, ("The Barber Shop").
