Student Support Services to Sponsor ‘National TRiO Day’ Event

Michael PollTRiO Student Support Services is proud to bring nationally recognized speaker Michael Poll to campus Wednesday, March 30, for a presentation titled “Create Your Own Destiny, Because Nobody Else Will!” (The event originally was scheduled for Feb. 28, but was postponed due to inclement weather.)

As the creator, writer and producer of a program dealing with “good news,” Poll carries a message of personal responsibility for college students − and knows the importance of sharing positive messages.

“Students need to realize the amazing potential that they have,” he says. “Too many of them grow up believing that there are things they can’t do, but I want them to leave my program realizing that anything is possible.”

Poll’s program is conducted with creativity and flexibility. He blends positive messages with activities and discussions that bring out the best in participants, and are structured to meet their specific needs.

“I don’t tell students what to do,” he says. “Instead, I help them learn for themselves by providing examples, stories and humor.”

All Penn College students, faculty and staff are invited. For more information, call TRIO Student Support Services at ext. 7326.
