Student Among Seven in Nation Invited to Legislative Conference

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is one of seven nationwide to be awarded a fellowship to attend the Associated Builders and Contractors National Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., on June 3-4.
Justin D. Humes, Jamison, a student in the Construction Management bachelor-degree major in the School of Construction and Design Technologies at Penn College, will represent ABC Region 7 (northeast United States) at the conference.
The event brings together contractors from around the country to meet with their representatives in Congress. U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao will be the keynote speaker at the opening general session.
Humes was selected from more than 1,000 ABC student members nationwide. He was chosen for his active involvement with the Penn College ABC chapter, his initiative and his outstanding leadership skills. The Trimmer Education Foundation, ABC's educational affiliate, will provide Humes with a fellowship that covers the cost of ground transportation, hotel, meals and conference registration. As part of the fellowship, Humes will be required to write a summary of his experiences at the conference.
Associated Builders and Contractors is a national trade association representing more than 23,000 merit shop contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and related firms in 80 chapters across the United States.
