State DEP Representative Meets With Environmental Students

    Thestate Department of Environmental Protection visited the Schneebeli Earth Science Center on Nov. 17 to discuss employment opportunities with students and alumni. Gloria Boyer, DEP human resources representative, spoke about internships and full-time employment opportunities for students and graduates of the environmental technology management/environmental technology majors. She detailed the steps involved in taking the civil-service examination to be considered by theagencyfor a full-time permanent position.Boyer also identified the benefitsof working for DEP, including excellent healthcoverage and 37.5-hour work weeks. Many environmental positions begin in the low $30s, she said, with advancement opportunities readily available for dedicated professionals.
