Staff/Faculty Volleyball Team Claims Second Consecutive Win

    The victors Action heats up center court Student teamWhat was expected to be a great volleyball match between the Staff/Faculty team Kim Bolig, Amber Dreese, Dan Bennett, Jim Cunningham, Andy Gutkowski, Elliott Strickland and Dan Warner and the student squad of Gavin Mock, Ben Vincent, Brian Brown, Brad Bell, Ashley Matson, Tara Powell and Annie Styles clearly lived up to the hype. The students started off the best-of-three match with a 25-11 win; the Staff/Faculty team battled back to take the second game, 25-16. With the match all tied, the student team started out hot with a 7-3 lead in Game 3. Strickland then entered the gym and called a key timeout, rallying the troops with some words of inspiration. "Whatever he said, worked," reported intramural assistant Jeremy Bottorf, who also provided the photos. "The Staff/Faculty team came out of the timeout with a vengeance ... to take the third and final set, 15-13, leaving the students shocked for the second straight year." Bottorf thanks all who participated, including referee Cody Goss.
