'Spring Visitation Day' March 19Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold Spring Visitation Day on Saturday, March 19, for prospective students, their families and other visitors who wish to learn more about the College, its academic majors and facilities.

Visitors can attend information sessions on admissions, financial aid and academics; take a campus tour; get help in choosing a career or major; learn about on-campus and off-campus housing; take sample placement tests; and eat or shop on campus. The activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with some information sessions beginning at 9 a.m.

Those who pre-register online by March 14 will receive a suggested schedule of activities in order to make the most of their time on campus.

Classrooms and laboratories in the College's eight academic schools Business and Computer Technologies, Construction and Design Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology will be open for tours, demonstrations and a variety of activities.

General information sessions focused on admissions, financial aid and academic affairs will be offered in the morning. Sessions for those planning to enroll in Fall 2005 will be offered on the hour from 9 a.m. to noon in the Field House; for those planning to enroll in 2006 or later, sessions will be offered on the hour from 10 a.m. to noon in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium. Campus tours, led by Student Ambassadors, will follow each session.

Student-housing sessions will provide an overview of on-campus facilities and the housing-application process. Sessions will begin on the hour from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student and Administrative Services Center Presentation Room. Tours of on-campus apartments will begin at the main entrance of each complex throughout the day. Information about off-campus housing will be available in Room 1049 of the Student and Administrative Services Center.

Those who are undecided about a career or college major may attend "Choosing a Major" sessions offered at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Penn's Inn on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center.

Disability Services sessions on accommodations for students with disabilities will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Room 201 of the Bush Campus Center.

Prospective students can take a sample placement test scored by faculty who will provide tips on how to prepare for the actual test from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second-floor wing of the Klump Academic Center.

Counseling, Career and Disability Services staff will be available throughout the day in Room 204 of the Bush Campus Center to answer questions and provide information about choosing a career or major, disability services, cooperative education and placement services.

Student organizations will offer displays around campus and operate food fund-raisers. Coaches from the 15 varsity teams at Penn College will be on hand in the Student and Administrative Services Center second-floor hallway to meet prospective athletes and answer questions.

The College Library will offer a place for visitors to relax with live music, refreshments, tours and informational displays including a scale model of the Roger and Peggy Madigan Library currently under construction at the main entrance.

Parents and guests who attended Penn College and its forerunners, Williamsport Area Community College and Williamsport Technical Institute, are invited to stop by the library to register with the Office of Alumni Relations.

Guests may eat and shop on campus throughout the day. Seven Food Services facilities will be open, including the Susquehanna Room in the Hager Lifelong Education Center, which will offer a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The College?s fine-dining restaurant, Le Jeune Chef, also will be open. The College Store in the Bush Campus Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those shopping for Penn College merchandise, textbooks and supplies.

Free shuttle buses will be available to transport guests around the main campus. Free bus transportation also will take guests between the main campus and the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood and the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville. The Advanced Automotive Technology Center, located at 2241 Wahoo Drive in Williamsport, also will be open. Tours and informational displays will be available at all sites.

Following Spring Visitation Day, the completely renovated Klump Academic Center, the most historic building on campus and the former Williamsport High School building, will host a public open house from 3 to 5 p.m.
