Sovereign Bank Continues Scholarship Support for Students

Rooney Jr., senior vice president and regional president for Sovereign Bank, presents a check to Joann Kay, executive director of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation.A Sovereign Bank executive recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation to award a scholarship to a Penn College student for the 2007-08 academic year.

Paul H. Rooney Jr., senior vice president and regional president for the Wyomissing-based financial institution, presented the check for the Sovereign Bank Annual Scholarship to Joann Kay, executive director of the Penn College Foundation.

"Sovereign Bank is pleased to continue its annual donation to this scholarship fund to support the students at Penn College," Rooney said.

The Sovereign Bank Annual Scholarship was established at Penn College in 2004. It provides an award of $1,000 to a student enrolled full time in any major at the college who is in good academic standing and demonstrates financial need.
