Softball Team Honors Imminent Graduate in ‘Senior Day’ Festivities

Claar, scheduled to graduate next month with a degree in health information technology, was honored during a Senior Day ceremony at Tuesday’s women’s softball game at Elm Park. “She has represented Penn College as an outstanding athlete, as well as an outstanding student,” coach Roger Harris said of Claar, dubbed “Lightning” by her teammates for her powerful arm and hustle. “She has been quite a leader and an inspiration to her teammates; she and her talent will be greatly missed next season.” Photos by Sarah K.
