The Penn College intramural indoor soccer champions traveled to Lock Haven University on Wednesday night for an extramural game – and what a game it turned out to be! At two minutes in, Penn College’s Abdullah Muaddi got the scoring started. LHU answered with a goal three minutes later to tie the game at one, then added a goal two minutes after that. After three more minutes, Ali Almehdhar scored for Penn College to tie the game at two goals apiece. LHU regained the lead 30 seconds later, only to see Hani Almoabdy score a tying goal for Penn College 20 seconds after that. Penn College added another goal, thanks to Jabar Hamadeer, with five minutes left in the first half. Not to be outdone, LHU scored four minutes later to tie the game at 4-4 … and that’s how it stayed at halftime. The second half didn’t produce as much scoring, but Penn College recorded a goal byAbdullah Alharbi with nine minutes left in the game to take a 5-4 lead. The game looked to be locked up, but LHU scored with one minute left on the clock to tie the game again. With overtime seemingly inevitable, the ball took a fluke bounce and was shot by a Lock Haven player into the Penn College net with 20 seconds left. Penn College got one last shot on goal, but the LHU goalie made an amazing save to preserve the 6-5 win. Ali Alshehri, Hamad Almarri, Fawaz Mashi and Mohamed Hmustafa rounded out the Penn College roster.
