Six Acts to Compete in Wednesday's 'Penn College Star' Finale

    Rock-solid billboard good as goldThe latest vehicle for promoting campus events got a glittery makeover in advance of Wednesday night's finale of the "Penn College Star" competition. Beginning at 6 p.m., the six surviving contestants from earlier rounds will perform their acts twice for a Klump Academic Center Auditorium audience in hopes of winning the $500 grand prize. To supplement more traditional advertising methods – word-of-mouth and posters, among them – the Off-Campus Housing Organization's Whitnie-Rae Mays repainted "The Rock" in eye-catching pink and gold. OCHO is co-sponsoring the event with the Residence Life and Student Activities offices.
