SGA sponsoring Sept. 17 mayoral debate


Mayoral debate A debate between the two candidates in Williamsport’s mayoral race, sponsored by Penn College’s Student Government Association, is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium.  Republican Eric Beiter, store manager for Beiter’s Home Center, and Democrat Derek Slaughter, a mathematics teacher at Williamsport Area High School and member of Williamsport City Council, will discuss issues and answer audience questions. The debate will be moderated by Craig A. Miller, associate professor of history/political science at the college.
