The Student Government Association extends its sincerest gratitude to everyone who helped with two successful fundraising events during Homecoming Weekend.SGA raised a total of nearly $1,300 for the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund thanks to all of the people who participated in the Bread and Pastry Sale on Oct. 10 and the Homecoming Car Show the following day.

SGA has set a goal of $2,500 for the scholarship fund this semester and next. The Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund generates awards for returning full-time students, based on criteria that include demonstrated leadership at Penn College and in the Williamsport community.

SGA extends a "special high-five" to the students enrolled in the Baking and Pastry Arts Applications class who staffed the Bread and Pastry Sale: Callie Chalmers and Katie Mengle (sale managers), Aaron Hileman, Amanda Schlott, Dan Eissenstat, Jen Miller, Lindsey Stine and Rose Fagnano. SGA also thanks instructor Chef Charles Niedermyer II and Fred Becker, dean of hospitality for their support.

The Homecoming Car Show also was a success with 56 cars entered, great raffles and awesome awards. Everyone who was there had a fantastic time.

SGA also encourages the entire Penn College community to continue to Feedthe Pig! So far, the pig has gained a couple pounds; about $90 worth! The piggy bank is kept at the Student Activities Desk in the Campus Center stop by anytime and Feed the Pig with change to help students succeed!
