Area children between the ages of 6 and 12 can receive free oral-health exams and clear sealants for their permanent back teeth when Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists' Association join forces to offer "Sealant Saturday" Feb. 1 at the College.

The program, which commemorates Children's Dental Health Month, is open to all children 6-12, though each must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

The screenings and sealant applications will be provided from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Dental Hygiene Clinic, located on the second floor, west wing, of the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center at Penn College.

All of the children will receive a free dental screening; the free sealants will be applied as needed. The work will be performed by licensed dental hygienists and senior Dental Hygiene students at the College.

Pre-registration is requested. Families may call (570) 320-8007 to schedule an appointment.
