Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Health Sciences will host its fourth 5K Walk/Run on April 21 to support a scholarship for students in the college's health sciences majors.

Net proceeds from the race will be used to support the School of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship Fund, with the goal of building the fund to an endowment of at least $25,000, after which it will become a permanent source of scholarship awards. Fundraising efforts for the scholarship including the 5K are coordinated by School of Health Sciences faculty and staff.

The race is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the college's main entrance, off Maynard Street. Registration will take place from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The cost to register before April 21 is $15. Race-day registration is $20.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runner and walker.

Recipients of the School of Health Sciences Scholarship will be selected from eligible applicants who are enrolled full time in at least their second semester of any major in the School of Health Sciences with a GPA of at least 3.0. An applicant's community service and college extracurricular activities will be taken into account.
