"Both teams were fired up and ready to play," said Jeremy Bottorf, intramural/Fitness Center assistant. After student Julie Schweitzer sang the national anthem, the ball was kicked off and Rose Street jumped to an early 7-0 lead.

"The Village/Campus View team couldn't seem to move the ball down the field, dropping passes and mishandling the snaps on numerous occasions," Bottorf said. "The game began to get physical and, soon, Rose Street/College West was up 13-0 and ended up winning by that margin." Rose Street/College West got touchdowns from Lauren Post and Tracey Brewbaker.

Bottorf termed the event a "huge success," from the tailgate party to the game itself, and thanked everyone who volunteered. Women from all four residence halls can now prepare for their showdown with the off-campus team, coached by Derek Rinaldo. That game will be Nov. 12 on the soccer field.
