Justin Z. Crider, an automotive technology management major from Fairfield, was selected as Resident Assistant of the Month for August/September.

"During Welcome Weekend, this Resident Assistant went above and beyond the call of duty to assist new students in making the adjustment to college life. Even a parent of a freshman noted his caring nature while assisting them during move-in," Residence Life staff said. "This RA is very diligent and hard-working. Most importantly, he possesses the skills to make our students and their families feel welcome at Penn College. He is truly an asset to Residence Life and the entire college community."

Crider is a Resident Assistant in Rose Street Commons' Clinton Hall.

Kacie L. WeaverRising Star of the Month
Chosen as an up-and-coming Resident Assistant was Kacie L. Weaver, of Harrisburg, an applied human services major and RA at The Village at Penn College.

September’s Rising Star has done a remarkable job of managing competing priorities with finesse and ease," staff noted. "She has done an incredible job of 'walking the walk' of a Resident Assistant; offering a smile and encouragement to her teammates, and always showing kindness and graciousness of spirit to her residents. All of her residents know her, and many have commented that she is easy to talk to. This RA possesses an energy that is contagious, and you can’t help but smile when she is around!"

Justin T. Mann'Always Hallways' Award
Justin T. Mann, of North Haven, Conn., majoring in heavy construction equipment technology: technician emphasis, was applauded for his on-the-job diligence.

"This Resident Assistant has been meticulous about reporting any facility issues, and remains on the scene until the issues are resolved," staff remarked. "He has made it a priority to ensure that our facilities are conducive to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents."

Cody E. Buterbaugh'First Responders' Award
Rounding out the month's stellar roster is Cody E. Buterbaugh, an electromechanical maintenance technology student from Conestoga.

"This Resident Assistant has the ability to troubleshoot any potential issues within the residence halls. He rises to the occasion by increasing his presence and availability in the halls, and by being a great resource for our residents," office staff said. "In addition to his Residence Life responsibilities, he is a tutor on campus and a student athlete. This combination of skill and involvement makes him an ideal Resident Assistant."

Mann and Buterbaugh are RAs in Rose Street Commons – the former in Juniata Hall, the latter in Delaware Hall.
