Residence Hall Association Wins Two Awards

The Residence Hall Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology received two awards recently from the Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls.

Construction Management student Kevin L. Imes, New Holland, won CAACURH’s “Residential Assistant of the Month” honor for November. Imes, who is a Resident Assistant at Campus View Apartments, organized a scavenger hunt that required students to meet administrators, visit other residence halls, learn campus history and tune into PCTV, the College’s television channel.

The association captured “Program of the Month” honors in November for a “College Feud” game organized by Resident Assistants from each of Penn College’s three student-housing complexes.

The three Resident Assistants are: Brian J. Fish, Hawley, Construction Management; Rebecca L. Murphy, Carlisle, Applied Human Services; and Syndy Benjamin, Elmont, N.Y., Pre-Physician Assistant.

Modeled after TV’s “Family Feud,” the game show used results of a student survey to ask contestants about their College environment. Prizes were offered to those correctly answering the most questions, which dealt with everything from on-campus living to “How long does the average Penn College student nap?” (Top answer? Three hours.)

CAACURH represents more than 60 colleges and universities in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington D.C.
