Pennsylvania College of Technology student Matthew A. Greger was named "National Communications Coordinator of the Year" recently at the Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls regional conference at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.

By virtue of his regional award, Greger, a Printing and Publishing Technology major from Bluebell, is eligible to compete at the National Association of College and University Residence Halls Conference, to be held May 23-25 at the University of Minnesota.

In addition, Greger was elected to serve on CAACURH's regional board for the 2002-03 academic year.

Greger, who was elected to the National Communications Coordinator position at Penn College in April 2001, previously held the post of vice president of the College's Residence Hall Association. He has served as the chairman for many events on campus, and his efforts have earned him a Bronze Pin, the highest honor that a Residence Hall Association can bestow.

"In my experience in Residence Life, CAACURH and NACURH, Matt stands out as one of the best student leaders and NCCs that I have come in contact with," said Karen A. Lehman, coordinator of residence life and adviser to the Residence Hall Association at Penn College. "He sets high goals for himself and our organization and never fails in his attempts to reach them."

Founded in 1954, NACURH helps residence-hall students achieve their educational goals by sponsoring discussion groups, seminars, speakers at annual conferences and a variety of other programs and events.

CAACURH members come from colleges and universities in Delaware; Maryland; New Jersey; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; and West Virginia.
