Remembrance Thursday for former board member

Birch B. Phillips Jr.A life celebration will be Thursday for Birch B. Phillips Jr., a former member of the Penn College Board of Directors, who died Friday, Jan. 31, at the age of 86. In addition to his board tenure from 1997 to 2010, Phillips was a past member of the college’s Corporate Advisory Board. He and his wife, Annmarie, received the Community Arts Center’s Directors Chair Award in 2008; the family’s extensive civic involvement includes establishment of a scholarship fund at the college. The celebration will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Herman & Luther’s, Route 87, Montoursville. A full obituary was published in Monday’s Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
