Michael A two-part presentation in Penn College's Madigan Library provided some free insight (and some historical hindsight) into the formidable natural-gas industry in the area. "Oil's Stepchild: The Natural Gas Industry in Appalachia: A History from the First Discovery to the Maturity of the Industry" was discussed by David A. Waples, a corporate communications manager for a natural-gas utility and speech communications teacher at Penn State Erie, and Larry L. Michael, executive director of workforce and economic development, shared findings from the recent Marcellus Shale Workforce Needs Assessment.
