The American Red Cross and Student Health Services at Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold the first Bloodmobile event of the year at the college on Feb. 1.

Students, faculty, staff and the general public are encouraged to help reach the goal of 170 pints by giving blood from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Penn's Inn on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center.

This year, there is a new option for those who wish to donate blood. To speed the process, donors can go on the Web and register for a specific time they would like to donate during the 9-a.m.-to-3-p.m. time period.

Penn College is the single largest contributor to the American Red Cross Bloodmobile in Clinton, Lycoming and Tioga counties.

The college also holds the one-day record for blood donations in Lycoming County: 178 pints.

For more information on giving blood, call (570) 320-5234 or send e-mail .
