The American Red Cross was pleased with the turnout for Wednesday's Bloodmobile at the Bush Campus Center, where a total of 174 individuals registered to give blood and 134 pints were collected. There were 40 first-time donors and, although the goal was not met, every pint collected goes to saving another life.

Many donors used the new online appointment system that recently was unveiled by the American Red Cross to streamline the donation process. Overall, the process went very well, and further upgrades will be expected prior to the next Bloodmobile on April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Penn's Inn. Please bear with the Red Cross and Student Health Services while they implement changes to better serve donors.

If you used the online appointment system, you will receive an e-mail around mid-March when you can sign up for an appointment for the next Bloodmobile. The Red Cross and Student Health Services thank all students, staff and faculty who participated as a donor or volunteer; special thanks to Food Services for providing the pizzas for this event.

The two winners of $25 Sheetz cards were Happy Fletcher and Aaron Stankiewicz, who may stop by Student Health Services to pick up their cards.
