Abdul B. PathanA Pennsylvania College of Technology professor presented a paper recently at the 22nd Annual Teaching Economics Conference: Instruction and Classroom Based Research.

Abdul B. Pathan, professor of economics, presented "Effective Method of Lecture Preparation and Presentation of Materials for Principles of Economics Courses." The paper discusses how to keep students engaged and motivated throughout the lecture period by using captivating examples and active learning methods. It is set to be published in the conference proceedings.

The conference was held Feb. 17-19 at Robert Morris University and was co-hosted by McGraw Hill/Irwin Publishing Co.

Pathan holds a doctorate from the University of Houston and master's degrees from Williams College in Massachusetts and Dhaka University in Bangladesh. He has taught at Penn College since 1987.
