Professor Presents Paper, Chairs Economics Conference Sessions


A professor of economics at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently participated in a number of sessions at the Pennsylvania Economic Association’s recent annual conference at Clarion University.

Abdul B. Pathan, a 25-year faculty member at Penn College, presented a paper titled “Approaches to Good Lecture Preparation, Presentation and Assessing Student Learning for Economics;” chaired two sessions; and discussed and commented on two additional papers  presented at the conference.

An ex officio director of PEA, Pathan holds a doctorate from the University of Houston and master’s degrees from Williams College in Massachusetts and Dhaka University in Bangladesh.

The PEA is a professional association of economists and allied social scientists in Pennsylvania and neighboring states. Approximately 70 papers are presented and discussed at its annual conference, which attracts economists not only from Pennsylvania and surrounding states, but also from other countries. In addition, noted economists from business, government, academia and the Federal Reserve System address conference sessions.
