Girdon − who heads the business administration department in the college's School of Business and Computer Technologies − was selected during the IACBE's annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, from April 5-8.

The commissioners are responsible for setting expectations and reviewing self-study and site-visit reports for purposes of granting accreditation to institutions with business programs.

The IACBE is one of only three business-degree accrediting bodies for colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.

The fastest-growing business-accrediting body in the world, its membership is anticipated to rise from 180 member institutions to 300 by 2007. The organization has branch locations in Geneva, Switzerland; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Mangilao, Guam.
