Professional Development to Offer Leadership Series Starting Oct. 8

PennsylvaniaCollege of Technology is offering a professional development series of topics conducted by Tim Mannello. Mannello has conducted training previously for the College, including topics for managing supervisors as well as a keynote address during Summer College on "Excellence in the Workplace."

Mannello's professional experience includes his own consulting service and positions as senior vice president at Susquehanna Health System, vice president of human resources at the Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center; director of management and organizational development at Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia; and project manager/trainer at University Research Corporation, Washington, D.C.

The Leadership Series is open to all full-time employees who either have, or aspire to have, supervising responsibilities. This series will comprise eight topics concentrating on managing and supervising employees. The topics include Behavior Based Interviewing/Hiring, ABC's of Leadership, Effectively Handling Problem Employees, Team Building, Leading People through Change, Time Management, Retaining Valued Employees and You Got to Want to Before You Can.

Each session is three hours long and will meet on Friday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. The sessions are scheduled to meet on the following dates: Oct. 8, Oct. 15, Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, with one additional date to be determined. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and are also expected to have the support of their supervisors in making the commitment to attend.
