Plastics Department Hosts 'The Penn College Plastics Experience' for High Schoolers

Student pulls a freshly made bottle from the blow-molder Students mix chemicals to create a polymer during an experiment Fifty-five students from six area high schools visited Penn College on May 16 to attend "The Penn College Plastics Experience." Students from Danville, Warrior Run, Loyalsock, Williamsport Area, Jersey Shore Area high schools and Watsontown Christian Academy attended workshops in injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, polymer synthesis and thermoforming, as well as an industry roundtable with plastics engineers. Students in the plastics and polymer majors helped to lead sessions for the visiting schools.
