'Pennsylvania Birds' Topic of March 22 Seminar at North Campus

If you've ever wondered what that bird in the yard was or the one that soared overhead and if you'd like to become a birder, Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro can help.
On March 22, the North Campus will offer a seminar in which participants can learn interesting facts about the characteristics, range and history of more than two dozen bird species found in our towns, fields and forests.
Teaching the "Pennsylvania Birds" seminar will be Jim Green, who started noticing birds when he took an optional field biology class one summer.
"This hands-on class opened my eyes to insects, woodlands and birds, and my interest has never waned throughout the years," Green says. "Whether I'm taking a stroll through town, out in the fields and forests, or driving on highways, I'm always listening and looking for birds. Because Pennsylvania offers quite a variety of habitats, we have a splendid variety of birds."
The seminar is designed for those with an interest in, but little or no knowledge of, common Pennsylvania birds. It will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The $49 cost includes refreshments.
