Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus will offer "Introduction to QuickBooks," a widely used accounting software, in September, followed by "Advanced QuickBooks" in October.

Those who can benefit from these noncredit courses include small-business owners with some basic knowledge of computer accounting packages who want to easily manage their financial accounts with greater confidence, as well as entrepreneurs with energy and ideas but no accounting experience. QuickBooks is the No. 1 accounting software for individuals and businesses with little bookkeeping knowledge.

"Introduction to QuickBooks" will be offered on Tuesdays, Sept. 11-25. "Advanced QuickBooks" will follow on Tuesdays, Oct. 16-30. All classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the computer lab at the North Campus, located 3 miles east of Wellsboro on Route 6.

Participants in both classes will learn how to create and track accounts, generate invoices and process payments. In the advanced class, participants learn to do reports, maximize the efficiency of forms, use business services, improve their handling of sales taxes, explore job estimating and learn tips and tricks for more flexible navigation within QuickBooks Pro.

The QuickBooks classes, offered by Penn College's Workforce Development & Continuing Education, have limited enrollment; call soon to reserve space. The cost for each course is $169.
